Out of 187 chapters in the State of Iowa, the Nevada FFA program earned 3rd place Supreme Overall Chapter in total entries and placings!
Ag Mechanics
Mady & Aubrey Gibson – Reserve Champion restored tractor in the group entry class with a Ford Jubilee tractor they rebuilt & restored for their grandfather
Hailee Weber – Reserve Champion in the restored farm equipment competition with her Allis Chalmers cultivator. Weber also earned a blue ribbon on her Allis Chalmers model G tractor, and a blue on her Allis Chalmers planter
Josie & Emilee Kelly – blue ribbons on their Allis Chalmers WD 45, and an AC model B tractor.
Nevada FFA Chapter was awarded 3rd place overall State Fair Ag Mechanics Chapter
Horticulture & Floriculture
Keegan Jones – Champion Exhibitor overall in the FFA Horticulture division. Jones also was Champion in the table vegetable class
Ariana Chappell – two second place ribbons, two third place ribbons, and four fourth place ribbons. Chappell also won floriculture showmanship
Isabelle Nelson – two third place ribbons
Nevada FFA was named champion horticulture FFA Chapter award at the Iowa State Fair
Goats
Isabelle Nelson – Champion in the Nigerian dwarf division. In addition, Nelson won a showmanship award also for her exhibition skills and showed three other goats all of which earned purple ribbons
Ariana Chappell – 6th place purple in the Nubian goat division
Kennedy Steffes – 6th and earned a blue in the Boer breeding doe division
Sheep
Marshal Sheldahl – reserve champion lightweight market lamb
Chloe Henry – 2nd place market lamb earning a purple ribbon
Swine
Kennedy Steffes – Champion Poland China and 5th place champion market hog
Maddie Gibson – 1st place class winning purebred Duroc market swine
Wyatt Toot – 1st place purple Yorkshire gilt and earned a showmanship buckle for winning the junior FFA showmanship class
Ella Toot – 4th place purebred Duroc gilt
Other Nevada FFA swine exhibitors included Katelyn Kingsbury, Carson Mather, Drew Robinson, Karter Beving and Aubrey Gibson
Nevada FFA Chapter was the 7th place overall Supreme FFA Swine Chapter for the 2022 Iowa State Fair and earned a blue ribbon for herdsmanship
Cattle
Avery Mather – 3rd place in the angus bull division, 3rd with her angus heifer
Cash Handsaker – 2nd with his Chianina heifer, 3rd with his simmental heifer
