Full Educational Opportunity:  All students with disabilities between birth and twenty‐one years of age, as defined in the Code of Iowa and Education of All Disabled Children Act (P.L. 94‐142), will be provided full educational opportunities in accordance with the Special Education Rules and Regulations of the Iowa Department of Education.

Child Advocacy:  The responsibility to identify, evaluate and properly place students with disabilities rests with the local district.  Employees will work actively with families and local AEA resources  to see that students with suspected disabilities are provided appropriate interventions in the general education setting as the team works through the problem‐solving model to determine if special education entitlement may be appropriate.  When necessary, other appropriate area‐wide agencies are contacted to assist in locating and properly serving disabled students in our District.
