After a number of stop arm violations recently, we wanted to send a reminder of school bus & stop arm etiquette.
Did you know that it’s state law to stop for school busses?
When approaching a school bus from the back, if you see flashing red or amber warning lights, you are not permitted to pass the school bus and must stop. Stop when the school bus stops (no closer than 15 feet) and the stop arm is extended. Remain stopped until the stop arm is retracted and the school bus starts moving again. Be mindful, however, as kids may still be walking near the road.
