The Iowa Urban Tree Council recently awarded Central Elementary School as an Outstanding Youth Program in Iowa for their efforts in promoting and enhancing tree resources in the state of Iowa.
The mission of the Iowa Urban Tree Council is to guide, lead and assist public officials, professionals, volunteers, and organizations
with implementing urban forestry solutions. Central’s nomination recounts accomplishments and commitments that resonate with their mission.
“We greatly value your efforts to preserve, protect, expand and improve your community’s urban forest resources. Your contributions serve as a model for others and we would like to share your achievements with the rest of the state of Iowa” remarked the Iowa Urban Tree Council.
Central Elementary will receive their award at the IUTC’s annual Community Forestry Awards Luncheon on April 3rd in Des Moines.
