I began teaching at Nevada in 2004 as a Special Education teacher at the high school. I transitioned to the middle school in 2006, and have been working with eighth-graders ever since. Before coming to Nevada, I worked at Roland-Story High School and Middle School for five years and Mt. Pleasant High School for three.
I grew up in northern Iowa and graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona. I attended Iowa State University and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education in 1995. I completed my Special Education Certification in 2001, and earned my Master’s of Education from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 2012.
I am an avid reader and love learning new things. My husband, Jim, and I enjoy exploring central-Iowa bike trails, kayaking, and traveling. My spare time is spent running, gardening, and scrapbooking.
