I began my teaching career in the fall of 2002. I started teaching special education in the Nevada School District in the 2013-2014 school year. Before that, I thought in Fort Dodge, Iowa, in special education for 11 years. I received my Bachelor’s degree at GrandView College in Des Moines, Iowa. I later went and got my Master’s degree from Graceland University through online courses. I am a graduate of Madrid Community Schools, a short 35 minutes away. I am currently residing in my hometown blocks away from my childhood home. In my spare time, you can find me doing many different things. One of them is spending time with my family. We enjoy making large meals together and trying new foods. I also enjoy helping in the garden and canning my own foods from that garden. When it is colder and I can not be outside as much, you may find me working on a quilt. Once they are done, they are wonderful to use when reading a good book.
