Hi, I'm Mickolyn Clapper and I am the assistant elementary principal. I started at Nevada in August of 2016. Prior to that I was an elementary principal for five years and I taught middle school and high school science for ten years.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in biology and secondary education from Iowa State University. I also received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State. I am currently finishing my Ph.D in Educational Leadership with a superintendent certification from Drake University also. As you can tell, learning is a lifelong passion of mine.
In my free time I enjoy traveling anywhere warm with ocean and sand, running and cheering on the Cyclones! I also enjoy spending time with my husband, Trent and our three children, Courtney, Will, and Trice.
