Gross, Justin
Director of School Improvement and Innovation

I am honored to serve as the Director of School Improvement and Innovation at Nevada Community School District, after serving as the Nevada High School Principal from July 2010 until June 2016. Prior to serving as the Principal of NHS I served as Missouri Valley's Co-MS/HS Principal for 3 years. I began my career in education in 2002 as a MS/HS science teacher in Griswold Iowa, where I taught Earth Science, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Environmental Science. I also served as co-athletic director for 1 year, the head girls basketball coach for 4 years, and assistant high school baseball coach for 5 years.

I am originally from Walnut Iowa, where I graduated high school. I attended Briar Cliff College where I obtained my B.S. degree in Biology, and played baseball for the Chargers. I obtained my M.A. in Educational Administration & Supervision from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

I am a life-long learner who believes strongly in continuous improvement and personalizing learning for all students and staff. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, golfing, and enjoying most sporting events. I enjoy spending most of my free time with my wife Melanie and our 3 children Addison, Avery, and Andrew.
